TS DataServer™ for MySQLTS DataServer™ for MySQL

TS DataServer for MySQL provides the ability to read and write to Sun Microsystems MySQL® database tables from any Thoroughbred Dictionary-IV™ based application.

MySQL

The MySQL database is the leading open source database choice for sophisticated computer users. Dictionary-IV based applications can communicate and integrate with the MySQL database by using our new TS DataServer for MySQL . Dictionary-IV automatically establishes a link to MySQL table definitions. Once the link is established, TS DataServer for MySQL enables the Thoroughbred-based application to run seamlessly using the MySQL database. Thoroughbred-based vertical market applications can now make a direct connection to MySQL databases.

Database Independence

TS DataServer for MySQL is for those application environments where connectivity to the MySQL database is a requirement. From enterprise-wide environments to single host-based local systems, Thoroughbred applications can now run in a shared database environment using the MySQL database as the primary data server.

Three Tier Design

The MySQL table structure is a defined file type in the Dictionary-IV Link definition. Dictionary-IV’s three-tier architecture allows applications written in any Thoroughbred Environment using Dictionary-IV definitions to run seamlessly with the MySQL database.

Workgroup to Enterprise

TS DataServer for MySQL supports the complete MySQL product line including Windows, UNIX and Linux-based MySQL databases. Thoroughbred applications do not have to be specifically designed to run with MySQL. Any application based on Thoroughbred’s Dictionary-IV can operate with a MySQL database.

Existing Applications and Solution-IV®

Existing Thoroughbred-based applications as well as Thoroughbred's Solution-IV Financial and Distribution application suite can run with MySQL. Existing applications using Dictionary-IV can be automatically recompiled, once the Link definition is set to the MySQL database type, and run with MySQL.

Write to Thoroughbred and MySQL Databases Simultaneously

Using Thoroughbred’s DataSafeGuard™ (DSG) Playback facility and a Thoroughbred DSG to MySQL interface, data from Thoroughbred applications can be written to both Thoroughbred’s native database and the MySQL database simultaneously without changing existing code.

Automatic MySQL Table Setup

TS DataServer for MySQL automatically creates the MySQL table with the Dictionary-IV Link and Format information.

Local or Remote MySQL Database Server

TS DataServer for MySQL supports both local and remote MySQL database servers. The configuration of the MySQL database is not limited.

Client-Server

Thoroughbred-based applications employing Dictionary-IV are Client-Server ready, and TS DataServer for MySQL now brings the best of Thoroughbred and MySQL to your applications.
