Along with up-to-date hardware, software, proper back-ups there are several features your Thoroughbred system has to make hacking and data security threats manageable.

Systems can be compromised by simply clicking on an infected email or internet link. There are some things you can do to secure your system.

First, evaluate your network infrastructure to make sure it will be difficult to intrude from the outside. This includes firewalls, filtered SSH, approved IP Addresses, updated software and using non-standard ports for communications.

Next, verify you have a solid backup and disaster recovery plan in place. This includes products such as Thoroughbred's DataSafeGuard™ which records your business transactions in real time, on a transaction by transaction basis to an off-site, secure database. Even if your system is breached or your computer system suffers a catastrophic failure, your data is protected and secure.

Last, Thoroughbred has tools to aid in encrypting some Thoroughbred files with AES-256 encryption. Valuable and sensitive data such as customer lists, Social Security numbers, formulas, financial information, trade secrets, etc.. Even if the files are stolen, they cannot be read or used. The encryption model conforms to GDPR Data At Rest standards.
