TbredComm is Thoroughbred’s terminal emulator. It supports the VIP graphical interface as well as character-based applications, and it connects over TCP/IP for local, remote and internet use. It works with any Thoroughbred-based application on Linux, UNIX and Windows telnet servers.
Secure connections
TbredComm supports telnet and SSH, with SSH1, SSH2 or SSHAuto connections. Authentication options include public key, SecurID token and password. Because it runs over TCP/IP, TbredComm gives remote users fast access to Thoroughbred applications and data over the internet.
Features
- TCP/IP, direct and auto-login connections, over IPv4 or IPv6
- Multiple sessions
- Smart copy and paste, and up to 100 lines of recent history
- Mouse-aware applications. Dictionary-IV applications support this automatically; 3GL applications need some programming, which is minimal if they share common input routines.
- Open workstation files from your application, for example for imaging
- Slave printing, Print to Excel and TS ReportServer support
- 132-column screen, full-screen sizing and font control
- Full Thoroughbred window color and font control, including Dictionary-IV color settings
- Custom settings through WorkStation Manager
How it fits
TbredComm is a supported terminal definition in the Thoroughbred Environment and works with all Thoroughbred applications. It is included with VIP for Dictionary-IV. For terminal access from a web browser with nothing to install on the workstation, see Thoroughbred Web Terminal. To run Dictionary-IV and OPENworkshop applications with their graphical screens in a browser, see Web OpenWorkshop.
