Report-IV to PDF saves your Thoroughbred reports as PDF files. PDF can be read and printed on almost any workstation, and its compact size suits multi-page documents you need to send.
Features
- Print to PDF. Pick Report-IV to PDF as the output device from the standard Report-IV printer prompt.
- Email and fax. Send the PDF as an attachment using simple options or your own email or fax Method.
- Background pages. Merge report data with a PDF background page or form, scanned or created separately, to produce invoices, statements and other forms with images and color.
- 3GL wrapper. Convert report output from 3GL programs, saved as a text file, to PDF.
- Barcodes. Print UPC barcodes.
- Post-save processing. Run a custom Method after each PDF is saved.
- Archive viewer. View, rename, delete, email or fax archived PDF files.
Setting options
Default preferences are set at installation on the Settings and Options screen. To override them at run time, include the global format and set its data elements before CONNECT REPORT. This example uses a background page and changes the margin and font size:

Requirements and platforms
Report-IV to PDF, including the 3GL wrapper, is included with Thoroughbred Basic and OPENworkshop, and it needs OPENworkshop and Report-IV installed. It runs on Windows workstations and servers, Linux, and UNIX systems including AIX and HP-UX.
How it fits
The Report-IV to PDF manual describes how T-Connect Web Terminal used it for all of its print options, including slave printing. From 8.9.1, T-Connect is replaced by Thoroughbred Web Terminal. For Solution-IV business forms, see FormsCreator.
