*FID - File Identification

Purpose

The *FID utility displays a list of open file channels, the file or device open on that channel, and key or index pointers for each open file.

Procedure

To run this utility from Thoroughbred Basic Console Mode type:

RUN “*FID” and press Enter.

To run this utility from the Thoroughbred Basic Utilities Menu type:

*FID and press Enter.

Note: If you run the *FID utility from the Thoroughbred Basic Utilities Menu, it will place you in Thoroughbred Basic Console Mode.

If a channel is opened with the DLINK option *FID will always display the primary data file.
