Note

All Thoroughbred Windows based products prior to Version 8.8.0 must first be uninstalled and then the 8.9.1 release installed. If you are upgrading a pre 8.8.0 release, BEFORE continuing with this installation, please see the TS Environment for Windows Installation Guide for complete instructions to properly prepare your system for 8.9.1.

Installation

Use these instructions to load TS Environment for Windows on your Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022 or Windows Server 2025.

1. Before continuing, review the updated installation instructions provided in the installation manual.
2. Logon as Administrator. Administrator privileges are required for the installation process. Once installed the product can be run using a standard user account.
3. Extract the contents of the winbas.zip file and run setup.exe.
4. Follow the TS Environment for Windows Installation Wizard.
5. Restart the system (from the Start button, select Shutdown, and then select Restart).

Merge the Files

1. Log back on as Administrator.
2. From the Start menu select All Programs-->Thoroughbred Software–>TS Environment for Windows.
3. When the Activation screen appears, activate Basic.
4. Merge the OPENworkshop modules. Please see the OPENworkshop and Dictionary-IV Installation and Upgrade Guide for details.
