Remove Help

This utility can be used to remove the Dictionary-IV non-window help documentation from the System Dictionary File (IDDBD). Versions 8.3 and above, use the new window style help. Since the old style is no longer used you may delete it from your system.

Removing Dictionary-IV help documentation may prove useful or necessary if you are running out of storage space on your hard disk.

In order to ensure proper operation of this utility, you should ensure that all operators have logged off Dictionary-IV.

If you plan to restore help later or keep a copy of the help for reference, you should verify that you have a proper backup.

Select Remove Help (Dictionary-IV) from the Dictionary-IV Utilities Menu. The system prompts:

Do you want to remove the Dictionary-IV HELP?

Select one of the following:

Y Positions the cursor at the next prompt.

N Exits the option.

Are you sure you want to remove the HELP?

Select one of the following:

Y The system removes the Dictionary-IV help files.

N Returns to the previous prompt.

After completion, you may wish to run the System File Expansion Utility. This will compact the system file and use less disk space.
