All Thoroughbred Windows based products prior to Version 8.8.0 must first be uninstalled and then the 8.9.1 release installed. BEFORE continuing with this installation, please see the TS Network Basic with DataServer Installation Guide for complete instructions to properly prepare your system for 8.9.1.

Host Installation

Approximately 1.5MB is required on the server system.
Use these instructions to load TS Network Basic with DataServer on your Windows desktop workstation or Windows Server class machine. The distribution media is in SETUP format. If a local Basic resides on the server system, you should use the same path for the TS DataServer product.

1. Before continuing review the updated installation instructions in the installation manual.
2. Log in as Administrator. Administrator privileges are required for the installation process. Once installed TS Network Basic with DataServer can be run using a standard account.
3. Extract the contents of the winbas.zip file.
4. Select setup.exe. Note: This installation will place an Install folder in your install-path containing files used for the Client installation
5. Follow the TS DataServer Installation Wizard.
6. Restart the system (from the Start button, select Shutdown and then select Restart).

This will install Network Basic on the server.

Client Installation

1. From the client, create a mapped drive to the Basic installed on the server and another mapped drive to the Dictionary-IV/OPENworkshop installed on the server.
2. Open the Install folder. For example: H:\Program Files\Tbsc\Install.
3. Select the Setup.exe to install the Client.

Merge Process

1. Log back on as Administrator.
2. From the Start menu select All Programs–>Thoroughbred Software–>TS Network Basic with DataServer.
3. When the Activation screen appears, activate Basic.
4. Merge the OPENworkshop modules. Please see the OPENworkshop and Dictionary-IV Installation and Upgrade Guide for details.

DataServer Activation

To activate the TS DataServer login as Administrator. From the Start menu select All Programs, Thoroughbred Software Server Activation.
Your Serial Number and Installation Code will be displayed. Enter your Activation Key and press Authorize to activate the TS DataServer.
